Aaron the barber

Once a year I get time off from being the hair stylist for my boys and Aaron takes over as the barber.  I look forward to it because I don't really like cutting hair and because I think they look cute in their summer hair cuts.

Aaron had fun doing weird things with their hair.  This is Zack as an old man.  I love the look of pain he has on his face in the first picture.

Austin got a mohawk.

Coach Pitch

Austin and Zack were signed up for soccer this spring, but they have been asking for almost a year when they could play baseball.  Unfortunately here soccer and baseball are the same time so there is no way they could have done both.  Lucky for them I decided to be a nice mom and we dropped out of soccer even though they wouldn't give us all of our money back.  Of course since I did that all I have heard the last couple of weeks is them asking when they could play soccer because soccer is the best sport ever.  Aaron and I at least had a lot of fun watching them and they did tell me they like baseball; they just don't like being the team in the out field.

We had the choice of putting them in t-ball or coach pitch.  One of our neighbors was coaching a coach pitch team so we decided to skip t-ball and go with that.  We are really glad we did because they have done great!

 The way they run is so funny, but I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that the helmet would fall over their eyes so they couldn't see.

 It was so funny to watch them play- they didn't quite get what they were supposed to do with the ball when they would get it.  When somebody would hit the ball you would see almost the whole team run in a big clump to go get the ball.

 But this is what a lot of the kids would be doing when they were supposed to be watching for the ball. :)

Gavin has the funniest run.  He will punch his arms forward when he's running, it cracks me up.

 One of their number one fans.  It was not always easy to entertain him during the games, but he is awfully cute!

 I had to miss one of their games when I was in the hospital which I hated so me and Hannah ventured out when she was only 6 days old to go support them.  She was a great baby and I kept her covered the whole time so nobody would touch her. Isn't she beautiful!

 

Austin was so concerned about what Hannah was doing during his games.  Whenever he was on base or in the outfield and was close to us he would be constantly asking what she was doing.

They were one of the youngest teams in the division and got out in the first round of the tournament.  Zack got an out on the last game and was SO excited!  They did great and we loved watching them play!

Hannah's Blessing

On June 3rd we blessed Hannah.  Aaron of course did an amazing job.  I'm so grateful for my husband! 

After we went to a park by our house for linner.  I made buns, barbeque pork with homemade barbeque sauce, coleslaw, and the best brownies in the world.  Our family was great and brought some other side dishes and desserts to share.  Unfortunately we didn't take hardly any pictures at the park because we were too busy talking.

Hannah was a party pooper and slept through the whole party.

 

 

 I really wanted to get a nice family picture, but those boys were all too fast changing.

 

It has been a lot more fun to dress a girl vs. a boy so I wanted to get pictures of all of the details of her outfit.  I love this sweet bracelet on her.

 I debated about sewing her dress, but I had no desire to do it.  However her dress came with a bonnet and that just isn't my style so I took her bonnet apart and made it in to these booties and her hair thing.  I was very proud of myself for re-purposing it.  Her feet are only 2 3/4 inches long and all of the preemie shoes are around 3 1/4 inches long (yes, her feet are tiny!).  So I tried adjusting the pattern to make them smaller so they would fit and I adjusted it a little too much and made them about 1/4 inch to small.  I was worried if I messed up a second time I wouldn't have enough material left to make them so I just made them the smallest size and they were about an inch to long.  I still loved how they looked on her though, almost like ballet slippers.

I really wanted a dress that was really long.  Her little legs probably only went to where the bows start if they even went that far.

I love the gathers in the bottom of the dress with the bows.  I wish we would have got a closer picture so you could see it better.

The shoulders of the dress were a bit big on her so you can't see what it's supposed to look like very well.  I loved how there was a strap and then the puff sleeves.

Preschool Graduation

Austin and Zack went to Iddy Biddy Einsteins this year for preschool.  They went Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for 2 1/2 hours.  They loved it and had a lot of fun!  For their preschool graduation they did a little program with some songs to show the parents what they had learned that year.

Then they did the Jungle Book play.  They had so much fun learning and practicing it.  For weeks before they would randomly break out in song.  Austin was Shere Khan and Zack was Hathi the lead elephant.  Zack was kind of bummed that his teacher cut several of his lines in the middle of the play without telling him and I was bugged as well, but they rolled with the punches and still did a great job.  Unfortunately I can't get some of the other videos to load.

 
They have learned a lot this year and do a good job sounding out letters and can figure out what a lot of words start with just by saying them and hearing the sound of the letter.  Watching my kids learn and grow is one of the things I love about being a mom.

 After the play they called up all of the kids to give them their certificates.  Apparently Zack and Austin are one person because they called them up together and they didn't do that with anyone else including the other set of twins that she teaches (but they are her niece and nephew so they are probably more important than my kids).  Yeah I was slightly bugged!  I hate when they are treated as one person and not individuals!

2 weeks

Hannah had her 2 week check up on May 1st- the day before Aaron had to go back to work.  She is a good baby and loves to be held as much as I love holding her.  She wakes up 3 times a night, but is a good eater.  I forgot what a sweet spirit a newborn has around them; maybe that's why the boys want to be around her kissing her constantly.  She is very loved and the poor girl never gets a break when her brothers are around.

We found out at her check-up that she has a heart murmur.  Our pediatrician wasn't too concerned about it and said that we would just watch it for a few months.  I was okay with that until we got home and then my imagination got the best of me and I had a hard time not calling and asking if we could get an Echo done, but I managed not to and just trust her.  She also has a really bad diaper rash right now because she poops constantly.  I put diaper cream on her constantly, but it's not helping much- it makes me want to cry when I see it.  Otherwise, she is a healthy girl.

Ahhh- the Dreaded 30!

Okay so it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.  Probably because I was too sleep deprived to care. :)

Aaron was awesome and made me breakfast burritos for breakfast.  My only requests that day were to stay home, have no visitors, and hold Hannah all day.

I got some movies and nice knives that I've really been wanting and all of my requests were fulfilled.

Aaron made me french dip sandwiches for dinner and even made the buns from scratch.  For dessert he made me an ice cream pie.  I have an amazing husband!

Since it was on Sunday we went to Iggy's for dinner Monday night.  It was a really nice low key birthday which is just what I wanted.

We celebrated with my family the week after.  My parent's gave me yard work which I was very grateful for!  And I got shirts from Steve's family and Michelle's.  Michelle even surprised me by coming up from Nevada for my birthday dinner.  Sadly though I have no pictures.

Newborn pictures

We went and had newborn pictures done of Hannah when she was a week old by one of my good friends Emily.  I love them, but you can't go to wrong when you have such a cute little subject! 

Gavin was being a major twerp and not wanting to cooperate!  This is the only one I love of all of the kids, but I do LOVE it!
