Summer Kick-off Party

My cute neighbor started doing this summer kick-off party last year and she invites all of the kids from the neighborhood. This year she rented this huge bounce house and water slide and then had 2 kiddie pools and a slipping slide. She does lunch for everyone and another lady from the ward brought her snow cone machine and made snow cones (I LOVE snow cones!) It was so much fun and even though I only had 2 hours of sleep I'm so glad we went!
The boys decided they wanted to go play in the bounce house and these cute girls were helping them.
I'm a mean mom and convinced Austin to go down the slide. This is what he thought of it:
I felt really bad after because he was terrified, but then he decided a couple of hours later that he wanted to try it again and he didn't hate it as bad the second time. Zack refused to go down it. I think we are going to be spending a lot of time in the water this summer.

On a side note, the 2 days we spent in the water they obviously had sunscreen on and after they looked like they had rashes on their faces, but then today they didn't have any sunscreen on and there was no rash. Has anybody else's kids had allergic reactions to sunscreen or could it be from rubbing their faces?

Sprinklers

Wednesday I had the brilliant idea that I would let Zack and Austin run through the sprinklers. I loved doing that when I was little and I figured that way I wouldn't have to set up the pool. They were so excited to go out until I turned on the sprinklers and then this is what happened:
I tried to convince them how fun it would be to run through them, but they didn't believe me so I decided I would show them what to do. I ran through them and they decided it didn't look to bad so then I got a couple of smiles.
And then this started happening again:
I ended up getting soaked trying to get them to run through them (don't tell, but I had a lot of fun!) and then I ended up setting the pool up for them anyways which they had a blast in. Oh well I tried, right? The boys waiting for the pool and Zack saying cheese.

Fathers

After my Mother's Day post I thought I would do one about all of the special men in my life.

My grandpa- When I think of my grandpa it makes me happy. I cannot imagine my life without him. When I was little he always called me Heidi Ho and would give me whiskers. I hated it then, but thinking of it now makes me smile. I remember always combing his hair, if we would do it for a certain amount of time he would give us a large amount of money like a nickel or a quarter. I think I'll do the same for my kids (I love my hair being played with). I remember when I would go there if he would be out in his shop I would go and sweep up the sawdust while he worked- I loved doing that! My grandpa is an amazing welder and a very hard worker! Despite all of his health problems he still tries to go out and work in his yard. He makes the best breakfast and helped instill a love of Dr. Pepper in many of his kids and grand kids. :) He is the best grandpa ever, I love him so much!

My Dad- My dad is such a great guy. He has always been such a great example to me; I remember growing up seeing him reading his scriptures every morning while he was eating breakfast. He was the one that got me in to running and when we run races together he is always willing to run slower with me if I want him to. He is a great cook and we always love to tell each other about new recipes or things we have tried. When I cook something good he is always the first person that comes to mind that I want to tell. He is such a hard worker and knows how to do everything it seems. He has built so many things and is so good with his hands. He has come and helped us a number of times and is always willing to drop everything to help out. I have learned so much from him and I'm so grateful he's my dad! I love you dad!

My handsome hubby- I have been in love with Aaron since our sophomore year of high school and I'm so glad he finally came to his senses our junior year. He is so cute with our boys. I love watching them wrestle and I love how excited they get when they hear the garage door. I'm so grateful for all he does for me and our family. He is so handy and can figure out how to fix or do anything. Just this week our washing machine broke so Aaron figured out how to take it apart and we only had to pay for the $50 part instead of some other guys labor. He is very good at sports and picks up on new things very fast. I hope our boys get his coordination and not mine. I couldn't ask for a better husband or daddy for my little boys. I love you Aaron!

Camping out

Last Friday we got our new tent so we decided to try it out and have a little camp-out in the backyard. I wasn't going to sleep out there with Gavin, but Aaron had the good point that we might as well see how he does so we all joined in the fun. I was really tired and the boys had been stinkers all day so I didn't really want to do it anymore, but I'm so glad we did because we had a blast!

You would have thought that we had given them a pound of sugar with how hyper they were. They were hilarious when we got the tent up and let them run around. They were literally bouncing off of the walls. We decided to watch a movie out there; it was the first time that the boys have watched TV and they seemed to enjoy it. We watched Toy Story 2 and they were going crazy with the dinosaur and other toys, it was pretty funny. We finally made them stay in their sleeping bags at midnight, they acted like they could have kept going for a few more hours.

My mom had given them these sleeping bags that came in backpacks and had these flashlights a while ago and they finally got to use them. They LOVED the flashlights. Everyone slept pretty good and other than waking up to rain which meant we couldn't put the tent away for a few days, we had a great time. Although it ended up being a good thing that it rained because we found out that our tent did indeed leak. This is the second tent we've bought that leaks, anyone else had this problem?

The latest happenings

Since I can't keep up with my blog posts I decided to do a post with all of the pictures I have from the last month that never made it in to a post. And for a few updates: We are doing pretty good, my first night back to work in 6 months is Thursday. I'm not very excited to go back and I'm way nervous.
Austin and Zack can sure crack me up and drive me crazy all with in a few minutes! Some of the things that they've started doing that I love are they come up to me multiple times a day and say, "Whatcha ya domin mommy honey?" They've started throwing or kicking things back and forth to each other and they always say, "throw me Austin/Zack." I think it's so cute. They also will just all of a sudden look at someone and say, " seriously (insert name)." It's pretty funny.
Gavin the last couple of days has started sleeping about 10 hours a night and last week he started laughing. He is the most ticklish baby and his laugh is so sweet! We are so grateful for our boys! Now on to the pictures:
At the beginning of the month I went to dinner with the SG's. We've been getting together for 9 years now, it used to be a sleep-over, but now that we have families it has become dinner. We were missing a few girls, but we had a great time!
My parents have been so kind to come over twice this spring to help us work on the rock wall in our back yard. My mom got her grandkid fix while my dad worked hard.
Austin and Zack thought it was so cool that they had their own seats on these rocks, but Zack wouldn't pose for a picture.
Gavin was laying on my bed while I was folding laundry and so the boys wanted up there with him. They were so funny and had to all be covered with blankets.
For a couple of days in May we had almost 90 degree weather so I got the swimming pool out and we had a fun picnic. It ended up being pretty over-cast that day so I didn't think the boys would really go for it, but they had a blast! They didn't want to get out even though they were shivering and have asked me almost everyday since if they can go swimming.

ZackI couldn't believe how daring they were, but they thought it was so funny to put their bellies in the water.
Apparently Gavin was mad he wasn't in the swimming pool with them. I love his pouty face!
My cousin Mike got married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 30th. We were able to go to the sealing with them, it was a great day! My dad was showing the boys the temple and thought it was funny to get them to say it was amazing.

My mom had surgery on her back the first of this month so we went to see her in the hospital.

Gavin's Blessing

Gavin was blessed on May 14th. Aaron of course did a wonderful job; I'm so grateful for a husband who holds and honors his priesthood. Gav wore the same outfit that Austin did and looked as handsome as ever.

After the blessing we went to a park by our house for some soup, salad and rolls. It was a beautiful day and we were so happy to have our family there with us. I didn't get very many pictures because I was too busy having a good time and I forgot to take them, but here are a few.
I wanted to get a family picture, but Aaron and the boys were off before I could so here's me and Gav.

Zack thought it was so funny to throw water at people. I know their outfits are awesome, but I only thought to bring shorts for them to change in to and forgot more appropriate footwear.
The boys are becoming very daring. I looked over at the playground and Austin was dangling there with no one around just having a great time.
Here are some shots from our photo shoot. Gavin wasn't very happy about it and then he finally gave up and fell asleep. But isn't he adorable?! I can't resist this little guy!
